Editorial policy
Clever Movie Journal aims to describe screen craft accurately and interpret it with care. We make our reasoning visible, distinguish observation from opinion and correct meaningful errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check names, terminology and factual statements against material available to us before publication. When describing a scene, we aim to distinguish what is plainly visible or audible from an interpretation of what it may do. Interpretive claims are presented as readings, not as facts about a filmmaker's intent unless that intent is clearly established by a reliable source.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for the reader, not to secure favourable treatment of a film, company or collaborator. If we find a material error, we correct the text and make the change clear where appropriate. Readers can report a possible correction through the Contact page; useful details about the passage help us review it promptly.
Partners and illustrations
Any sponsored or partner material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not buy a positive assessment or editorial control. Some illustrations on the site may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified and are not presented as frames or production images from a film.
