Write for us
Clever Movie Journal welcomes pitches that make a particular part of movie craft easier to notice. We are interested in original, reader-focused ideas about composition, production design, editing, sound and visual storytelling.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a short outline naming the film or screen example, the specific craft choice you want to examine and the reader takeaway. A strong proposal has a clear central question, makes room for evidence from the work itself and avoids treating personal interpretation as the only possible reading. Tell us why your angle adds something distinct to the subjects already covered.
Before you send
Pitches should be original, carefully observed and written for a general reader. Explain any specialist terms you expect to use, and note any relevant interests or relationships that could affect how the piece is read. We cannot promise to accept or publish a proposal, and unsolicited full drafts are not required.
Where to send it
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a brief outline and a little about your approach; do not include material you are not entitled to share.
